Around the age of twelve two of my uncles got me involved in shooting. A year or two later my father got me a Remington Nylon .22 that I still have today. Today I am sort of a "Gun Nut". I don't do anything seriously competitive, but I do go to the range when money allows. I also have a carry permit, in this crazy world one can't be too cautious.

One of the two aforementioned uncles got me involved in reloading my own ammunition, and I have been doing so ever since.

Given the state of current politics and recent tragedies, I thought I would throw my personal opinion out there.

The number of responsible gun owners in this country far exceeds the number of criminals that use them for nefarious reasons. A gun is a tool just like an hammer, axe, or fire extinguisher. When used properly they can be extremely useful in all kinds of circumstances, and save your live as well.

I can't see the reasoning behind punishing legitimate gun owners for the actions of criminals, when the criminals should be the ones being punished.

Our second amendment was written for a reason. It clearly contains the phrase "Shall not be infringed." Therefore, I believe any gun ban , licensure, or limit, including any assault weapon ban, caliber restriction, or function restriction, is unconstitutional. I believe all the above gun laws including the NFA should be repealed. I do not believe the Constitution is a "living document" open to interpretation. The men who wrote it were very wise and had suffered through oppression and tyranny. They wrote it the way they did for a reason.
